This Starwars-esque beast is a Three-wattled Bellbird, proclaiming its territory with piercing whistles and an open-mouthed clanging 'bonk!' A dream bird for me, particularly as I'd missed it 18 years ago, on my first trip to Costa Rica. Back with the family, and my luck was in, as we watched this corker perform in the Monte Verde cloud forest. Epic!
